Look who's nearly ready to fly the nest. This is the second batch that our Kookaburra's have laid since September last year. There were originally 3 eggs but we found two on the ground, so this little baby has been fed quite well!!!!!! Trev's in the garden using our hedge-trimmer on everything that has grown! He tends to be a bit ruthless, so whilst the ladder was out I climbed up the tree. You can see the size of the tree from the picture with Ophelie on Steve's shoulders that I took last year.

2. This morning one baby Kookaburra in the nest. This bird should be ready to fly within the next couple of weeks. He was quite put out that I was at the mouth of the nest and was quite chirpy!!!!
What an adventure for a little girl, she will remember this for a long time,

We had a crownest in the chimney once. I had to remove it because it was too dangerous ( we didn't want a fire in the chimney). So I removed the 2 young birds with the nest, but a lot of angry crows tried to attack me, ....not funny at all.
I gave the nest another place, the parents found them and the birds grew up well .
