So very sad today. Yesterday a friend of my daughters took his life. He was the best man at her wedding 20 years ago this year. My heart goes out to his ex wife and little boy. I just cannot believe it.

Picture from my daughter's wedding holding best man's hand, while hubby throws the garter.

Oh! my dear Sarah, so very sorry to read this post. We lose so many young men to suicide. It's so distressing. My heart is aching for you and your family. Please pass on my condolences to your daughter. Love and prayers, Chris.

Thank you Chris. I do not know his family and cannot begin to know what they are going through, especially his little boy.

My heart grieves for all who are left behind and the young man who saw no other way out. I feel suicide is more common and I don't understand why. It certainly does not solve any of the problems but leaves so much devastation behind.

Sarah I am sorry to read this. Suicide seems rampant. There was one here, someone my substitute driver knew just about 2 weeks ago. It is so sad for the ones left to wonder WHY . It is also too hard to comprehend, their deep state of mind, when they take their own life. So very sorry for your son- in - law losing his best friend.

Over the years I've had fabulous students who grew up and committed suicide. I thought they had such great potential, and I never can understand what happened in their lives. My sympathy goes out to you.

01 31 2015 In some countries, suicide is the honorable thing to do--we do not know what was going on, nor do we know his health. I wish for understanding and compassion for all left behind, not knowing is the hardest part of suicide.

This is so sad. I'm so sorry for your loss and all of those close to him. We have no idea how despondent he must have been to feel like this was his only option. I feel the need to be pointing out to my children and grandchildren how much difference a day can make in the way we feel and view our circumstances.

It is so sad when someone thinks they have nothing to live for. I'm sorry to hear this especially for their friends and family. He such a handsome young man and I'm sure he still was. Life is not always fair but I know God is in control if we only trust Him. There is always a better day coming/Lillian

I, too, am saddened by this, and yes, as so many, have stated, depression is so unpredictable, and uneasy to recognize. My youngest daughter is bipolar, and I have lived for years in fear that she would do something to end her life. It is so difficult, trying to instill positivity to a soul, who can't seem to grasp that life holds so much beyond present circumstances.
Hugs, Angel

Very sad. There are so many young men (and women) also taking their own lives recently. Hard on the people left behind as often they have no idea that their loved one is suffering depression and then they are left feeing guilty because they think they should have recognised it.
