My niece had a baby boy in January, When I saw this on cuties freebies, I just had to make it into a birth sampler for her, now this is where I need your suggestions, at first I was going to applique it onto another piece of fabric then frame it, then thought no, just frame it with a blue border from the framing shop, then thought again and the idea of making it into a blanket came to mind, then a cushion, does anyone have any thoughts, ?

Now that is another thought that you have triggered in my mind, with your comments, maybe a Quillow (a cushion that opens up to a blanket, then folds back into a cushion) hmmmm, thanks for your comments, much appreciated. Trish

A little cushion would be a lovely idea. One of Amy's friend had a boy on December 4 and she is mad on Elephants and has a little elephant cushion. I'll leave it up to you I'm sure you'll get lots of other ideas. Love Chris

yes, maybe a cushion, and I can make another one on a piece of fleece material, that way they get both, would I embroider on fleece the same as toweling ?
Yes, use a piece of thin water soluble stabiliser over the fleece to prevent the stitches sinking in.

The design is lovely and would look great on a blanket.

I love cushions so that's my suggestion. Sometimes I do something like this and stretch the fabric over a small frame so it can be hung up. Great work

yes that was my initial thought to do thanks

I think either a pillow/cushion or a blanket. My grandchildren love to cover with their blankets while watching TV and often bring their pillows into the living room. It will be a treasured memory what ever you decide. Well done. Becky

With the information on it, I think a framed piece. Without the information, just the name, It would be great on a towel...bathing elephants!

It will last and be preserved for generations to come if matted and framed. If you do this be sure your initials and date in small fonts are on it somewhere/Lillian

My vote is for the blanket. I have made many blankets for relatives & the children still are hanging on to "their" blanket.
Whatever you decide, it will be cherished!

This would be great as a baby book cover too, for their accomplishment's. I made several for friends and family. Similar to the link below.
A binder with blank pages will work as a scrapbook; or cover a store bought book with the pages ready to fill out :)

Very cute! The thread you used is so pretty and shiny! I like the idea of putting it on a photo album cover or frame.
