Fancy dress costumes!
Last week my kids had a competition and a challenge for me to make their costumes to match their theme-'marine wolrd'
With no previous experience in costume making.....no pattern or anything and just 3 days in hand!
My girl dressed as an octopus and boy as a shark!:)

To have made these 2 costumes without patterns and without costume making experience and then both in 3 days you really have done an exceptional job. The win was very well deserved! Hopefully next year you will get a bit more time than just 3 days. You have also probably opened the eyes of school personnel as to who they need to call when they may need a project completed. AWESOME job!

Fantastic costumes! You really did an excellent job on both of them. Hard to believe that you had not pattern and had only three days to complete them- they really look professional! Congratulations on a job well done. They are both awesome but my favorite is the octopus with its long arms dangling! I am truly impressed!

Brilliant. it is amazing that when we become parents that we end up saying yes to all sorts of things - jut like this. We have no ideas at all but just have a go. Look like you have a great future as a designer and maker of carnival costumes and the like. I see from reading further down that they won first prize. Congratulations. Lastly the costumes look as if they are made from velvet which is not the easiest of fabrics to work with so well done

Thats not to worry dear...The kids face openings in the mouth of the shark and also right in the middle of the octopus body theres a slit:)
I obviously had to do this because firstly they need to breath;) and secondly they had to speak about their creatures too!

P.s...my boy was so excited with it that he very comfortably spent the whole morning in that suite and I was shocked to see him still wearing it when he returned home! Hahaha:)
