Hi Cuties,

Corinne, a friend of Amy's saw my chevron aqua fabric in Dana's bag and my newest bag and asked me if I could make her a baby capsule cover using that fabric. So I met her Saturday arvo and sewed it out yesterday and today. It's just the length (1 metre) of the baby capsule by about 40cm wide. I put iron-on Pellon fleece in between the two fabrics and then just put some ties on with some Velcro to close the tabs. As Corinne loves Elephants I embroidered an applique one from ? - can't remember. Love Chris

1. Picture of Baby Capsule cover.
2. Cover with reverse fabric. I just made tie loops with velcro to close.

Love the applique and the colour. But I haven't the foggiest what a baby capsule might be.

Hi Martine, thanks, it's the carrier capsule that sits inside the baby's carseat, then you transfer it to your pram. Love Chris
by mops 10 Feb 2015
they are called MaxiCosy here. I thought a capsule was a swaddling cloth - lol.

Nice job Chris...I am assuming a capsule carrier, is like the infant car seats here, that face backward in the car.

by pennifold 09 Feb 2015
You got it Toogie, it's a complete section that is removed from the car seat and can be placed into your pram. Love Chris

Hi Chris,
Not sure what it is used for but nice job, I love chevron fabrics, just used my first one last week to make bias and love how it turned out.

Well, Chris...nice job on whatever a Baby Capsule is...okay, I had to Google it...we call them Car Seats here in the USA...

We call them car seats too, but it's the inside section that can be removed and Corinne then places it in her pram. Love Chris

Cute little elephants. My curious nature made me Google 'Baby Capsule' because I had never heard of this term and I began to imagine all sorts of contraptions, lol :-)

Hi Nancy, it's just a take out carrier (capsule) that can be placed into your pram. Love Chris

Google--Capsules & Baby Infant Carriers are suitable for babies from birth to approximately 6-12 months old. In most cases the carrier section of the restraint can be removed from the base, and a carry handle is used for transporting a young baby around without disturbing.

LOL I sure am glad the Baby Capsule Mystery was solved before I arrived on the scene. I would never have guessed. Nice job Chris/Lillian

Just different terminology I think Lillian. It's basically a cover to go over the capsule that can be removed from the car seat and put straight in Corinne's pram! Easy peasy! Love Chris

1. Picture of the Baby Capsule Carrier - this can be placed (snapped into) Corinne's pram. It is also placed into a car seat holder for safe travel.
2. A design of the type that I've made.

Thanks for clearing that up! So is this cover meant to keep the sun out of the babies eyes or keep the baby warm?
by pldc 09 Feb 2015
ok we just call it a car seat & then this would be a car seat cover up lol
by pldc 09 Feb 2015
& a very good idea too
by pennifold 10 Feb 2015
Roxanne - yes it's to keep the sun out of his eyes! Love Chris
by RockyB 10 Feb 2015
That's a great idea Chris, I may need to make one of these!
by RockyB 10 Feb 2015
Does it attach any where else besides the handle loops?

Oh isn't it fun to learn new terminology? I must admit I wasn't sure what you were talking about! I just couldn't imagine what you were going to do with the little baby or had done to it. I had visions of you putting the little critter in a sock or swaddling. This has been a fun and educational post for me. Love the idea, terminology and your little gift. Thanks for sharing this.
