When you joined and it asked notifications on, you must have said yes - so it will send you a notification every time someone posts. You have to turn notifications off. It's different on the phone than laptop (I think). I get no notifications and only see Facebook when I log in on my laptop - but because I manage a group, I do have notifications set to yes on my phone. On the computer - go to settings by clicking the down carat (top row, name, home, find friends .. next to the lock for privacy settings you see a down arrow) and you'll see SETTINGS. Click that, then on the right click NOTIFICATIONS. You'll see you can edit all different ways you get info and turn them to off.
