A sherpa lined hoodie is a bit of an advanced project. I will try to help you through it, though. You will need to hoop a piece of tear away stabilizer and use some type of temporary adhesive to stick it in place, being careful to line it up properly. I would then pin it to the stabilizer or use a basting stitch to hold it into place. The thick pile will need to be flattened down before you try to get it onto your hoop as it will shift lots. Depending on the fabric on the outside you may or may not need a water soluble stabilizer on top to hold the stitches from burying down into the pile. Be sure the bulky balance of the hoodie is placed to lay on the outside of the hoop and that you keep it clear from the arm movement and from getting underneath the hoop. Just before starting your design, place another piece of tear away underneath your hoop and let it stitch into place. That will give you plenty of stability while stitching. Choose carefully your design. It should be relatively simple. Good luck!

Thanks for your reply! So just to clarify: if I'm describing this embroidery sandwich from the bottom up it would be an unhooped tear-away stabilizer, a hooped tear-away stabilizer, a spray on temporary adhesive, the sherpa hoodie (sherpa side down, sweatshirt side on top) and then a wash-away stabilizer. Does the sandwich sound right? I also thought of another question. What kind of needle would you use? An embroidery needle, or something else?
