I've been experimenting today, to try to come up with a realistic rabbit. Here is my prototype alongside the very simple but unrealistic one I did for the J-club members. The new one is double sided with four legs as we discussed in Toogie's thread in community.
He is made in three hoopings with a tiny bit of hand sewing to finish.

& that is such a good idea..........mmmmm hubs never uses his beige velour robe maybe I should cut that up too lol

It is left over from a dressing gown! Sort of stretch toweling with a fleecy back.
Never discard any garment, you would never know when it could be used for another purpose. Anyway I think bunny looks great. G

I still have a booklet on how to design stuffed animals, from the 70s, complete with how to design the bellies and in some cases a tapered part for the head and back as well. Would need several hoopings to get the animal, but it would be far more accurate than doing them by sewing machine.

On my first elephant I had gusset in the head and back, but I didn't attempt to join it all in the hoop! That book sounds interesting.

I like both bunnies ,the flat bunny would be easier for a baby or small toddler to handle.
Saw a real baby bunny on Tuesday hopping along the footpath in front of our parked car,in a very busy street which is full of shops ,panel beaters etc.
