I'm praying, but maybe if you remember him in little positive ways through the day, such as eating cake doing some of his favorite things or going to one of his favorie places? You were both such a blessing to him as parents and you had the most wonderful time you could while you had him! I still love that picture of him walking in the woods - it's engraved in my head.

We will be attending an 80th birthday party on Saturday and will definately think of Ben.........prayers go out to you and everyone who was touched by Ben........you will get through this Jan, you are one of the strongest women I know!!

My prayers are added for you and your family. I suggest you celebrate his birthday in a special way. Not with cake and presents but by doing something special in his memory. It could be doing something like taking a quiet walk and remembering how he loved special occasions and activities or doing something for someone. But make the day a special one.

Jan, I know each day still is tough for you, and especially Ben's birthday. I have to agree with Karen in making it a special day in doing something Ben enjoyed, such as a place he loved to visit or an activity he gained pleasure from. Keep one or two pictures of him smiling at his happiest moments in your pocket to refer to when your heart feels sad. Seeing his smiling face will have to remind you of how much he knew he was loved, and that he knew he had two of the most loving parents one could have! Cindy and I will be celebrating Ben, along with you and Willie, this Saturday. You are in my prayers daily for strength and happiness.
