for the last 3.5 years I have not been able to use my oven, every time I tried it does something prickly to my head & makes me quite dizzy. Not a very good combination. I have wanted to make Hubs some homemade cookies for such a long time. SO today I figured out that if I wear a hat maybe it will be ok. I did it! I made peanutbutter cookies! I know that may sound really simple to most well all of you but for me it is a big deal. It only hurts some but not dizzy @ all! YEH!

Loralye they look very yummy, would not last long in my house. I am pleased for you that you have worked out how to use your oven without too much discomfort. Is it an electrical oven or a microwave, just interested to know. Hugs Marg

Fantastic way to cope with your problem - & maybe start a new fashion for kitchen hats, too! The cookies look great - you should feel very pleased with your achievement.

lol now that is food for thought. A kitchen hat with an embroidered design on it of course. ~hugs~

You may want to have an electrician check out the oven for good measure. Sounds like you are magnetic field sensitive. Best that you found a fix for the situation. No one can go long without cookies!

it is a brand new oven Christine so unfortunately it is all me. but this is really good progress!~hugs~

I'm so proud of you! Your hubby is going to be so pleased with these cookies. What a special day for the two of you. Be careful of that brain. It has been through enough trauma

indeed Karen it has, but this was a really good try...I have tried before & I couldn't even get anything PUT IN the oven so this is a vast improvement for me. I am really pleased that I could get this made. ~hugs~

Congratulations, that's great progress if that's what you want to do. Me, I've been looking for an excuse to NOT use the oven (and the vacuum). lol
There are some great no-bake cookie recipes on the web for when you are alone and need a sugar fix.

now there's another really good idea, thanks I will try to remember that one. You know that is an EXCELLENT idea I can feel like I am contributing much more by "baking" without running the risk.Thank you so much for this wonderful idea! ~hugs~

Well done. you have accomplished a massive task for your self then.
wonder what will be in the oven next . you know what, may be you could use some of the stuff we put in oven gloves. that deflects the heat and make a cooking hat. dont know if it would but you never know.
Hugs Pam.

mmm that is another good idea but I am thinking maybe wearing a chef's hat would be just the ticket? I will have to look up a pattern & see if I can find one online. It would cover my head & look much better then me wearing a toque in the kitchen lol ~hugs~

I fully understand. I suffer from Arnold Chiari and everyday things can be very difficult. I am so happy for you to be able to overcome and make some awesome cookies.
