Hi Cuties,

I was in so much pain over the weekend due to a toothache. I'm been having RCT (root canal treatment) on my 36 (lower back left molar). Well when I was at the Endodonist on Friday 27th February he dislodged the crown behind the 36 (my 37). He glued it back down, but it came off on Monday evening - so I rang dentist on Tuesday as the jagged edge was cutting my tongue. Got into see my dentist on Thursday and he put a temporary filling over it. Great till Friday night and then the throbbing began! We had to attend a funeral in Sydney on Saturday and I went through a Packet of Nurofen (the pain was so bad they did nothing!). Sunday I went to the chemist to get stronger painkillers, but they made me feel sick. I rang the dentist first thing on Monday morning and lucky for me they had a cancellation at 10.45 - I took it. Got in there and then there was the choice of having a 3 unit bridge multi dollars, an Implant huge multi dollars or an extraction (which my dentist actually recommended) - so I now have a gaping hole there, no pain, just healing going on. Waled out of there at 12.35pm!. I had to sleep upright last night so went to sleep in my recliner chair, it was actually very comfortable. I've got to rinse my mouth out with warm salty water for about a week. Then on 27th March I go back for the next Root Canal treatment on the 36!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm an advocate for keeping teeth as you can get so many things go wrong, but I'm so glad this one has gone.

I feel absolutely fabulous today, can't believe the difference. I even got to finish off two more bags yesterday.

I see the dentist every 6 months, my husband hasn't been for years! It's not fair, but then when he goes he usually has an enormous amount of work to be done!

On a brighter note I'm off to the movies today to see The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel with my Mum.

Look after yourselves and love to you all. Love Chris

1. Wanted to show you a picture of our gorgeous grand-son Ryke (Dana and Jason's eldest child). This was his first Rugby League game on Sunday morning.

sorry for the typos I was in a hurry! Walked instead of Waled!

I've been having treatment - not I'm been having.

Hi Caroline, it was wonderful. I just love all the actors and actresses in it and the colours of India are just magnificent. You will love it, we laughed and cried. Mostly laughed - the one-liners that Maggie Smith had were great. Love Chris

Wow, Chris...you and I are on just about the same path here...I had a toothache under #30 which was a bottom molar crown two weeks ago...after all said and done...tooth extracted, too! For me, rather than impact 2 other molars with a 3 tooth bridge...I am going to try the implant...I have to wait 4-5 months for the extraction area to heal...then have the post implanted...wait another 4-5 months for the implant and bone to grow together...then get the actual tooth put in....Not looking forward to this at all...my husband is the same...practically never goes t the dentist...I however go every six months like you...seriously, where is the justice here? Good luck to you...I am in it for the long haul!

Well done you Kim, I feel your pain too. Implants in Australia cost between $5,500 - $6,500.00 plus extraction costs etc. I hope you get a great result from your implant. Love Chris

Thanks Lillian, yes, I'm a great believer in good oral health. I worked for a dentist for 10 years, so know all about. Ryke is certainly the spitting image of his father at the same age. Jason will be 45 this August and is still fair haired. Love Chris

He is a handsome young man, Chris. Feel for your dental issues as I have similar. Wish I had lots of money, then it wouldn't bother me so much to visit dentists.

He is a hearbreaker already!! Oh, Chris, I know the pain of the teeth issues!! I have had 3 very last molars removed in the past 5 years....one on either side on top and one on the bottom right.......I fought hard to keep them as well, had root canals in all of them for quite some time and then one by one they caused me grief (throbbing pain) so upon suggestion of Periodontist it was time to remove....what a relief after the healing to no longer have the sensitive tooth!! Glad you got yours taken care of........

Ooh! Vicki, you poor thing 3 RCT's!!!! I'm sitting in my lounge chair as I write this (it's nearly 7.00pm Tuesday evening) and the relief I feel is sure bliss. I actually cooked up some soft food - pasta with broccoli, mushrooms, snow peas, chicken and stock etc. with garlic and onion with some cream stirred through it. It was delicious and I've just eaten some green grapes. The hole where my tooth was is healing already, so I'm thrilled. Have the girls tomorrow, so I'm hoping to finish one more bag. Love Chris

Sympathy and empathy, Chris. I have to visit my dentist today as well. I had some very expensive implants last year and one is loose. My teeth are rubbish!

So sorry you had so much pain. Nothing like a bad tooth. I opted to have one molar out in the back due to an abscess also. I got used to it not being there. Until I can afford to replace it. SO I know how you felt. My hubby des not even have a filling in his mouth at all. he just turned 62.Not fair is right.
Glad you are feeling better though and you have one handsome guy there in the red!! Suzanne

Cute looking kid.
Poor girl. Know all about teeth trouble too. I am like you. Off for a check-up every 6 months. I am keeping mine as long as possible too. One dentist (over the years I have had many) told me it wasn't my fault that I have lousy teeth. Gee, thanks.
When my sister had problems giving birth to her daughter she was told that problems at birth can lead to problems with teeth. Boy! was that correct with me and my niece.
Keep up the check-ups they are worth it.
