you know that old saying out of the mouths of babes? Well Miss Ava had this conversation with her mom yesterday & I had to share it with you because I just could not stop laughing!
Ava: what's that?
Mommy: face cream
Ava: what do you need it for?
Mommy: because I don't have beautiful five year old skin anymore. I have the same skin I did when I was five, so I put this one so my skin looks young.
Ava: you mean it just makes you look old slowly?...

This reminded me of my favorite Alyssa story. It was on the eve of my 50th birthday and my 5 year old granddaughter Alyssa was spending the night. I had always had a weakness for pretty nightgowns and had a whole drawer full of them. We were getting ready for bed and she was looking through my nightgown drawer. "You sure have a lot of pretty nightgowns Grandma" she said. After pausing for a moment she continued. "Too bad that you are too old to look good in them." LOL Remembering this night always brings a smile to my face.

Ahh, the things our little darlings do to make us feel "old". When my daughter was in 4th grade she was studying the presidents of the USA.
Mita: "Who was president when you were born?"
Me: "I don't know." (History was never my strong subject.)
Mita: "What year were you born?"
Me: " '52."
Mita, without thinking: "18 or 19?"
Oh well, what's another 100 years!

lol that's so funny.....now I laugh & say no we saw the dinosaurs roam
