I couldn't find a pencil topper that I liked so I decided to make my own............Not in a hurry to make any more any time soon since while trying to cut the hole for the pencil to go through I put the scissors through my finger instead..

I think you were thinking of a HEMOSTAT Loralye - but they do not have sharp pointy ends, more like clamps. I use them sometimes for pulling thread through my needle when the automatic needle threader is out of alignment!

I have these too but what is the name of those other kind of like a duck bill ? I use these when I have trouble turning things rightside out they work really well

Oh ouch .The worst i did was put the point through one side and out thee other hurts like******i needed stitches .Just rest your finger a day or two :(:(Poor you:(:(

Maybe you wee using the 'wrong' sort of scissors for the job.?!?..
Some scissors cut well at the tip while others are better near the pivot point.
That spot hurts the worst, I think. Ouch!! in sympathy.
A nice bandage to cover and some nice ice cream to sooth the hurt should do the trick.

Ouch!! that did hurt and finger will be sore. Be sure to use some antibiotic ointment on it and a band aid to prevent infection.. Dye from thread and fabric can cause problems/Lillian

Won't think too much about your finger hurt! I use to faint if I see or think of blood. So I try to avoid concentrating on it - but I feel so sorry for you and wish you relief soon.

Very cute toppers. Thanks for showing them. Sorry to hear about your finger, I hope shopping makes it feel better. Here's something you can shop for. Its called a Buttonhole Cutter Set, I use it for all kinds of holes. With the mini cutting mat underneath, just a light tap with a hammer and voila, no stabbed fingers.
