When I keep getting issues like that, I clean the bobbin area thoroughly with a computer vacuum and completely rethreaded the machine, including replacing the needle. This often clears up any issues. If the needle hit the bobbin it may have cracked or scratched the bobbin, bent the needle or bumped the hook out of alignment.

Let us know how you get on with it. Hope the fix is just a simple one like above.

Take your bobbin case to your repairman and ask if it looks solid. Sometimes they just need replacing. Also, when I place my needle on Janome 350, I bring up an emery board or something under the needle before tightening, to be sure it is high enough in the "slot".

I hear your pain and frustration, I also get this problem on my 300E, I know it sounds funny but check the thread has gone all the way down passed the thread tension dial and under before bringing it up to the thread take-up leaver, sometimes I find mine will jump out of the proper threading line don't know why nor does my repairman.. pe 300 did that. My daughter asked about it at a sewing shop. The man there said it may be the timing. Don't know anyone in my town who fixes machines I trust, so went on you tube and typed in the problem in and watched a video and figured nothing ventured nothing gained and tried it. Itworked but haven't tried it since I bought a 5/7 area. But at least it sewed again. It was very easy to adjust. saved myself $69.
