Exactly, do not click and log into paypal and you can send the email to them for investigation.

PayPal usually address you personally, so it can be one way to check if this doesn't have your name, but of course, if in doubt, delete!

DELETE it immediately using SHIFT delete key at the same time which will remove it permanently from your computer rather than just sending it to your rubbish bin.
It is most definitely a dangerous email, call it spoofing, call it phishing, call it whatever, it is an attempt to gain access to your information or your computer!
PayPal does have an email address where you can forward these type of emails, supposedly for them to investigate, but you are better off just removing it from your computer.

My husband tells me if Paypal has not used his name, it is a scam. Report it to Paypal and kudos to you for not opening it.

In the US there are warnings galore about this. It is a spoof. They tell us to forward the email to them (to Paypal). Sure glad you were NOT going to click on the link. It leads to a nasty virus or worse.

I get these emails occasionally and add them to spam. Do not click on the links.

I receive that email all the time and I do not have a Pay Pal account. So it has to be the S word. Delete, delete, delete!!!!

A few weeks ago I did have a message I thought was a scam The first was from Face book and requiring change of password and then I got a message from Paypal also and was wondering what kind of scam was going on....but no it was from Paypal and another from Facebook and both had limited my accounts as they regularly watch the internet for peoples name and passwords being made available to those Nasty people who are lower than the belly of a pregnant ant,... only they are even worse! Anyway after phone calling PayPal directly and verifying I am me and my accounts were secure etc all passwords changed and all those unscrupulous people who added their addresses to my PayPal account were deleted, then all was well again.. Thankfully the bank cards I have connected to my PayPal are all old and deleted cards and I have to click to use a different card and we only use that 1 valid card and it is a liquid account that does not connect to any of our bank accounts plus that liquid account we only put money on it when I am getting ready to make a purchase so otherwise it never has more than $10 on the card, so Thankfully my close call ended up OK.
Hopefully those of you who make purchases on line regularly, I hope you have a similar bank card to our liquid account as I am so grateful that with the access they gained to my account they were unable to do anything due to PayPal freezing the acct and there not being any funds for them to steal. Also know that I have only used that information on embroidery sites so there is someone not nice out there getting a hold of private information so be sure to change passwords regularly and hopefully make the card you use for PayPal - NOT attached to your bank accounts information.

I won't use my Pay Pal any longer. We had to change our credit card 5 times in two weeks. I used PayPal and got that notice...So like a dummy I accessed it. Everything looked leget but ...I got hit for $800.00 dollars in magizine supcriptions. The bank worked dilgently for two weeks to block them and file charges. I contacted Paypal by phone using the number on their site. When I gave them the code that was to be used he said it was fraudulant and to never open one again. There are little things to look for in the email heading. Mispelled words or a captiol letter in place of a lower case etc. First no that I called: 1-402-935-2050, the customer service rep. was very helpfull. He gave me this number to call: 1-402-935-7733. I hope this is helpful...I know how scarry it is to go thru!

I had the similar message from my ISP. Thought that was strange so contacted them through my e-mail account and they asked me to send them copies of what I had received. They came back to me to say it was spam and they were following it up. I would always contact that company who was supposed to have sent this type of message and check with them before doing anything else. They are usually Spam.
