I'm thankful right now that I didn't join the "Needle through the finger club". However, I did try to hold my FSL taught while the basting frame was stitching and I had just removed a pin so I went to hold a spot down and some part of the presser foot or screw hit my finger. Something is now out of alignment and I will have to bring it to the shop. I tried changing the needle, turning the machine off, removing the foot and putting it back on. So I packed her up and as I'm packing I see blood has seeped out of the bandaid and onto the my machine case. Very classy wouldn't you say? At least the wedding is over and I just finished 2 baby gifts.

Sew very sorry you have hurt yourself! Glad it wasn't any worse then it was. I have a Stiletto that I try and remember to use in these instances as I've come very close to stitching me to the machine. I also try to slow the machine down if I am just sewing. With Emb it's a challenge so...Take care, hope it's back home quickly.

Ouch. Brings back memories! So sorry you have joined this dubious club! The only good thing about my experience is that it happened in class and the sew tech was on the premises and fixed my machine right away. As you say, all the sewing for the wedding and your two baby gifts were finished. Timing is everything... Keep that finger clean.

I had my DH bandage it because it hurt so much and I was squeamish.

That is what I call Insult to injury. Not only are you hurting, but the machine is to go to the doctor too. I wish both of you fast recovery. :)

I use a bamboo skewer to hold things as I know that no one will help me if I stitch my fingers :-)

Urgh. Sorry to hear that your machine is now not working as it should. I stitched my finger earlier this year and it was painful for ages. its something I did many, many years ago. I went and had a anti tetanus jab and that laid me flat for two days...

Ouch...I did a similar thing yesterday, too...but I only got a blood blister when the presser foot screw hit my finger...pheeew...and fortunately my machine was okay...good luck, hope it's a minor admustment!

Big ouchy........we don't realize how dangerous our profession is.......BTW I slammed my right index finger in the screen door this morning and actually cut the skin.......like yours, it will be sore for awhile!!

I know that had to have really hurt, since i'm a member of having sewn my finger club and have also had my finger slammed as you have. Hope it will be ok both the finger and the machine/Lillian

I feel your pain. When I sewed professionally I sewed my fingers more times than I could count.. I kept my tetanus shots current just for that reason.

All this while I always thought it was absent minded me getting hurt again again. Have cracked my nail with needle stamping on it twice before I pulled it out. And once had needle going in and coming out of skin layers on side edge near nail!!
