This post is for all the kitty sisters........we started using these sterlite or rubbermaid containers years ago for our kitties that feel they need to stand and spray when they pee, well, we had to graduate to these 20 inch tall ones, I discovered Cassie was sticking her rear in the air when she pee's and the spray was going beyond the 13 inch tall boxes, and hitting the wall......thank heavens I saw her doing it and was able to resolve it quickly......I couldn't yell at her, after all she was in the litterbox.....I don't like the covered boxes as they are too hard for me to sift....anyway, in case any of you other cat lovers have a sprayer in the house, this is a pretty inexpensive solution.....

Excellent! My old kitty is an outdoor kitty, but this winter he has been using the kitty box more and right after he comes in. Not sure why just grateful he comes home.

I know there are some people that actually abandon or give up on their kitties that spray in their litterboxes, am hoping this post will help someone out ........

Christine, he probably feels threatened by a younger male and doesn't want to be in a vulnerable position for attack outside! Also, he may be letting you know he wants to be more of an indoor cat now.

Great Idea! We don't have a sprayer, but we used to. This would work!

looks like this would be much neater with less kicking of litter out of the box too.

Oh thank you so much. Our new little kitten is doing really well using his tray and manages to keep everything in there, except in his attempts to cover things up he flicks litter out of the tray. We bought one with high sides but it is not good enough. This is a perfect solution that doesn't cost the earth. Thanks again....

I am off to raid and empty a storage box right now... :)

That is awesome! I think I might suggest this at the cat shelter. They can call them Catpartments! I am sure there would be a few people with old shelving that needs replacing but still in good condition for something like this?
