Can anyone remember where the site is of showing you how to put a tie loop on your large embroidery spools? I've seen it somewhere but cannot remember what it's called. I have the large 5000m threads and other than buying more plastic to wrap around them I wanted to try that knot method. Every time I try to put a knot it just keeps slipping. Thanks for any help. Love Chris

I only have 2 nets that I use when I'm actually sewing thread. I'd need 200 to cover my large spools! Love Chris

Chris I make a tube out of ribbing scraps and just pop them over the spools , they work a treat ,sorry I can not add a photo we are in Victoria right now

I've been using plastic tape and after a while they lose their stickiness! Love Chris
I have had that tape too , but as you say they get lost its sticky ,at least the ribbing is easy to keep an eye on you dont need to cover the whole spool just about 2 " for a large spool

OK girlfriend you obviously need to come for a visit so we can make you some netting thread covers. I can't stand tying knots in thread as it still all falls down anyway, especially if it is rayon.

That's good to know about Hugo's stuff. I bought a whole tape full of see through plastic tape and after a few years it's gone limp!!!!! I'd need 200! Might leave the net ones! I'll just go and buy some more stronger tape! Love Chris

It needs "recharging." I take a strip and rub it back and forth across the top of my thigh when I have a pair of jeans on. The static electricy will transfer to the tape and recharge it.
Chris, I actually prefer the net to using anything else as I can leave it on while embroidering and it stops the spool from unravelling too quickly. Nets are especially good to use on metallic threads. hugs, me.

Hi Chris. I have lots of the big spools, too, and I use ponytail holders (wrapped elastics). Last ones I purchased were $4 for 50.

I found zip bags the right size at a dollar store. I hold the tail of thread against the spool and slip the bag over. Holds the thread great and keeps it dust free on my pegboard.

I use nets on small and large cones of thread. Bought they on line. They are the right size for big cones and cut in half fit small ones great. They weren't that expensive.

Chris, I just make a nick with a knife on the bottom of the cone ( like the old cotton reels) and catch the thread in this.

I go to the dollar store and buy the pony tail holders. They work great. Easy to put on and take off.

This was really interesting to see. If any one is looking for the nets, I went to the local florist and asked them to save the ones sent in to protect the flowers. They just take them off and pitch them in the trash, works perfect for me. Leave them on the reel and you are good to go. hugs leaha
