Hi Cuties........I need advice......most of the gift card holders I have take too long for me to make....I worked on this today, just using tearaway stabilizer and this is what I came up with.......it took about 2 minutes to stitch and about 5 mins to put together.......I know it will look better with fabric or fancy paper, but I don't know whether to go any further with it.....what do you think? Keep in mind the satin stitches aren't there, yet , but if I offer one with and one without the satin stitches, one can use the triple stitch one for paper?Am not fond of digitizing ITH stuff, but I needed a quick way to do these.........Thanks to all!!

I think it is cute and I like the top. The only concern I have is the gaps. Will money or a gift card slip through that? Please come up with a finished project. I think it has great potential.

How about both tabbed pieces pull up through just the two slots of the non-tabbed pieces?...and eliminate the slots of the tabbed ones. Just tried it with paper.

I checked my patterns for these boxes and Joansatx is correct, the two sides with tabs do not have slots. When closed, the two tabs come together and then then two slots go over the tabs. This would be nice for an in the hoop project. I would do one with designs and one without so you could add your own designs. Just my thought.

I'll be excited to see an in the hoop one of these. I think that will make it easier to make and has endless options. Hugs for your endeavor. When I retire I want to learn to digitize.

Not yet, this is just the prototype......I will get back on it tomorrow and see what I can come up with.....I just needed some advice as to whether I was on the right track.....

I've made a couple of these style of boxes Vicki and you don't need the holes in the tab sides. Looks great. Love Chris

I just thought it might be more secure them stAcked over each other starting on one side and going around to the other...will try one the other way, too........

When I've made these, they didn't stay together very well. Mine were desiged a little differently and the sides were more square so that things could not fall out of it. It took me a while to make, but then I did fiddle with it a lot. I've seen them done and they do look lovely, but then, I think they are quite time consuming too.

That is why I Made this with the slots in all 4 sides.....by folding one over the other, at least with the stabilizer paper, they all stayed in...we will see when I move on to fabric what happens
Look forward to seeing a fabric one. I might give these another try.
