Hi there all!
After seeing so many amazing bags here on Cute....I made my very first attempt :)
Used regular cotton fabric but lined with fleece(thats what I have access to easily) to make it firmer and its lined with contrasting black cotton fabric! Some fleece in the straps too!
Zipper on the main section...a zippered pocket inside and a big pocket outside under the design patch :) probably will attach a magnetic snap if I can find one...lol!
Its not easy for me find all the necessary supplies. ...but thankfully its enough!
Well it didnt turn out perfect but now I know how I can make it better the next time....thanks for looking :)

I think your bag turned out lovely! You really must have a large size hoop,as I just love your designs,EVERYWHERE. I use fleece,as batting, in some of my projects too. You don't always have to use exactly what it calls for. Use what works for you.Great job!-Toogie

Yeah you are right that we have to just use what would work and I am quite used to substituting for different stuff!
I have a 5×7 hoop max dear....the design in the middle was done in 2 hoopings :) Glad you liked it!

I really do like it. Afterward I looked again and thought that maybe you put one design, turning 3 times, to meet the first. It really looks good and your designs for the handle looks like some linen designs Design By Sick has.....I really hate when I post, it comes up twice. I think there is something going on with my pc. When I hit my go back arrow, it goes back 2 pages.

Beautiful!! I have learned to not use black for the inside of a purse--It's hard to see what's in there. For the inside use a lighter fabric.

Looks like you have been doing these for a while. I don't see anything wrong with this one. I really like the designs on the handles, Also, how well does the fleece do as a stabilizer? I also have a lot of fleece and am interested in trying a bag but I can't do zippers.

The fleece works pretty well.....the red box I had done a while back also had fleece as stabilizer while embroidering! But try not to use a very delicate thread or something which breaks easily....other than this theres nothing to worry about!
About zippers....I dont do them much either but they aren't that bad :) specially if you have a zipper foot on your machine....go ahead give it a try! Good luck :)

Wow! This is beautiful! I love that you have embroidery all over it (and especially love the embroidery on the handle). I read below where you said you did two hoopings for the design on the front. Your work is impressive. Very very nice. Thank you for sharing with us.

love it, and I can empathize with you about having to always improvise (Wow, big words for this early in the day!) I live about 200km away from a sewing shop. I use the internet a bit to buy things sometimes.
