Here is the finished cot panel that I asked for suggestions to solve the uneven side panels.Mops suggested to use words . I decided on her name but then what size font to use because I wanted to do only one hooping ,in the end did a try out which turned out to be perfect, even the pink thread was just right.

Iron-on butterflies fell out of the cupboard when I was looking for some buttons & the yellow one under the Y was perfect but the others weren't.Embroidered some butterfly samples which were turned into iron-on appliques after the butterfly above the K pulled the pink border out of alignment.
The stitching around the rabbits etc is done ,using a clear mono filament thread with white bobbin thread -photo 2

Thanks Chris, but it is for her cot ,I pinned it up on the wall hanging in my sewing room to take the photo.Keeley had a great big grin on her face when she saw it but our dog walked by while I was holding it up & the dog got giggles.she hadn't seen a dog before.

Gorgeous cot blanket! I am sure it will be treasured by both Mom and Keeley! Great fix to the uneven borders and they now do not even register as unbalanced as you have successfully tricked the eye! Great Job and kudos for posting the group as to recommendations on how to address the imbalance and then also on deciding how you would like to proceed and which advice to take. Great choice with mops suggestion. Again GREAT JOB!!

Your advice was so simple but it made the quilt,so thank you.The butterflies falling out of the cupboard at the right time ,was strange way of getting an idea as well without using my brain.
