Husband woke me up at 6.30am this morning ,to tell me some of the roof tiles had blown off during the night.SES were engaged ,so rang the insurance company about 10mins later & it took nearly 1hr to speak to someone ,so there must be lots of damage around the place. They have arranged for the tiler ,to come tomorrow. We have a 2 storey house, so I wouldn't like to be upon the roof today,it is bad enough on the ground ,branches down ,plants minus their leaves & Gandalf chasing everything that moves.

Yes but we have only wind & rain blowing straight in from the sea. The insurance company wanted us to pay them the excess but the bank is closed until tomorrow & their internet banking is down too.
Isn't it wonderful how the insurance companies won't start anything until you pay the excess.? As if we haven't paid them enough already with our premiums. If there is more damage between the excess being finalised and the repairs starting they will have to foot the bill.
the bank is still shut ,so the excess hasn't been paid yet but the tiler has sent someone who got up with a tarp ,laid some tiles down which have sand bags on top. This company has always been prompt in sending out people & settling bills.
I live in Nelson Bay, we have a tree down in our back yard.

Just saw on the TV the storms in Sydney terrible. Surprised you even slept at all. Hope the wind dies down so you can get the roof fixed or at least a tarp over the damaged area.

Luck you.
The wind & rain might not be as bad around Penrith,as it is near the sea.At least the dams might get filled .According to the local paper last week our dams are only 59% full at the moment .

It was sunny this morning ,started to sort out the garden, the orchids in the green house have been knocked around & there is a large pile of garden waste on the footpath to be picked up by the council. We have power because in February the electricity company came through ,trimming all trees ,shrubs etc that were not a 1/2 a metre away from the power lines.

Hope you get everything sorted quickly. Hubby and I just got back to Sydney last night after spending 4 days with some of the grandkids down near Wagga Wagga, no damage but the backyard is under water and the dog loves the fact she's allowed in because it's to cold and wet out there.. Marian
