I too can only use designs for 4x4 hoop, I do have Embird and I resized it for the 4x4 hoop, however, the proof will be when its stitched out. Some designs when resized below 20% (I believe this is what the industry suggests) do not sititch out well,

I added this sweet santa to my file then shrunk it down to fit my hoop. It'll still be close to 5" tall but my larger hoop will fit. Now where did I put that red fabric I was saving for Christmas stockings?

Marrion embird will resize it for you
marrion do a search and look for Edit 'N Stitch you can download a free trial and it allows you to resize designs add text and everything. I am new to this and found it very easy to use. Hope this helps
