I found a sarong in the top of my wardrobe which I've converted into a dress. I find it very frustrating that it is now impossible to buy reasonably priced interesting fabrics in the UK. (The sarong came from Zanzibar! The print doesn't show very clearly on the picture - it is cute little Indian elephants with bigger ones in the border.))

I am sure it is beautiful up close-photos don't always do a piece of work justice. Don't you just love re-vamping clothes to get some more wear from them. I am about to do that to a bunch of tops-make them sleeveless and then do some kind of embroidery on the yoke area to give them a new look.

Yes - since one of my 16 year old twin
daughters is interested in sewing and
embroidering I teach her a bit and we
converted some clothes into new ones.

What goes around comes around - when I was a child most of my clothes were remade from my older sisters' albeit because we couldn't afford much new fabric!
